The organization was founded as a community coalition in 1995.
Since that time the Institute has sponsored statewide conferences, provided train-the-trainer and workplace training workshops, produced public service announcements and established support groups for older victims of domestic violence.
Recently, the Elder Abuse Institute was awarded a grant by the US Department of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women to develop transitional housing options and supportive services for elder victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking. Events/Training
